Academics

The rigorous academic experience at the Ross School of Business fosters “critical and creative thinking” and has a “strong reputation” with “great recruiting outcomes.” The “very well-run” MBA program is known for its “action-based learning.” Students enjoy the real-world experience of the school’s Multidisciplinary Action Projects (MAP) course, which all first years take. MAP gives students “the opportunity to consult for an actual company” and has a “variety of projects and companies available,” including opportunities to work internationally. Students also appreciate the “world-class leaders and experts who are teaching the MBA curriculum.” The program has a “great breadth of course offerings,” and there is an “excellent integration of rising trends in class topics.” As one student illustrates, “Ross offered a learning opportunity in every area of my diverse interests.”
Overall, students feel supported by the school. The administration is “very hands-on and helpful” and “demonstrates a genuine concern for students' mental and physical well-being.” Students say professors “make themselves very available” and are “willing to adapt” their courses based on feedback. Students also note that professors “act as good moderators in class, seeking the participation of the majority of students and pushing for healthy debate at all times.” As one student describes the learning environment, “At Ross, you take classes to learn, not to do busy work or for grades, which has been a huge pressure relief. It feels like home, and I will miss it when I graduate in a few months.”
