Location
Pitt-Bradford's 491-acre campus is located in Bradford, a friendly town in northwestern Pennsylvania that the
WorldAtlas listed as one of 9 darling small towns in Pennsylvania. Campus sits at the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains and is close to a state park and a national forest, which give students opportunities to discover, study and enjoy the natural surroundings.
Off-Campus Opportunities
There are many places off campus where students can explore and have fun.
Some of the most popular outdoor recreational areas nearby are the Allegheny National Forest, Allegany State Park, Holiday Valley Ski Resort, Kinzua Bridge State Park and the Marilla Reservoir.
The neighboring town of Bradford is home to the Marilyn Horne Museum and Exhibit Center, The Zippo-Case Visitor's Center, and the Penn-Brad Oil Museum.
Pitt-Bradford also is within a day's drive of a few cities, where students can explore even further: 160 miles to Pittsburgh, 75 miles to Buffalo, N.Y., 175 miles to Toronto, Canada, and 190 miles to Cleveland.
“Life at school is always entertaining” at The University of Pittsburgh at Bradford, although “since it is a smaller campus in a rural setting, you have to create your own fun.” For example, students enjoy “bowling for fun, or play paintball” and “people are always out and about playing pick up games of football, sand volleyball, soccer, and basketball.” “There are clubs for most majors and for a vast majority of interests from MMA to Anime to Star Wars,” one student explains. “For fun, people mainly hang out together” in this “tight-knit community.” On campus there “are a lot of activities put on by the school and by the large number of clubs” from “an open mic night to a drag show we had last year!” Off campus, “the town does have a lot of events though and that brings the college students out into the community!”
