From The School
Students at Drury do not spend their class time in lecture halls. They like to be part of the action. Students are immersed in hands-on, real-world experiences such as showing their work at the Pool Art Gallery, designing campers for local disabled homeless individuals, and working with a Congolese refugee support program that provides healthcare to those most in need.
Drury University empowers students to practice "meaningful involvement everyday" with excellent, personalized co-curricular experiences that are based on a variety of topics, interests, and fields of study. Over 85" of Drury students are involved in extracurricular activities spanning nine different categories and over 70 organizations. There are ample opportunities for students to gain friends within similar interests, improve leadership skills, network with faculty and staff, and make your mark on Drury's campus.
Drury also gives students the opportunity to learn alongside students from all over the country and the world. The Drury University student body represents 37 states and 52 countries.

What students say:
When asked to describe their peers, undergrads at Drury immediately boast that they are "very engaging and friendly." One student quickly illustrates, "Walking down Drury Lane you say hello to at least five people, some you may not even really know; however, people are so nice and welcoming here that you don't have to...know [them] to say [hi]." Aside from this gregariousness, Drury undergrads are "bright and ambitious" and filled with "awesome school spirit." Moreover, many students desire to become "informed global citizens." As another undergrad proudly states, "I am surrounded by students who take every opportunity and experience to learn about themselves, their community, and the world." Hence, these undergrads love that the university draws students "from all around the world." In fact, it's not unusual for a person to find himself "sitting next to someone from Springfield (a local) or someone from Germany or Kenya." Perhaps this explains why "acceptance is a big part of [Drury's] campus." Indeed, "everyone tries to be as unified as possible." It helps that Drury's small size means that there's "so much room for building friendships and the possibility of knowing a good majority of the students here is most certainly possible." As this satisfied undergrad concludes, "I never imagined a college campus could feel so supportive and connected until I came to Drury."

One grateful student agrees adding, "[Professors] are always available outside of class and really work with me on topics that I am struggling with." They make it evident that "they really care about what they are teaching." Best of all, Drury professors are "very personable, and always willing to go the extra mile to ensure the best learning experience for their students." Therefore, it comes as no surprise that undergrads here are able to develop "last[ing] relationships" with their professors.

Location
Springfield is the big small town that has it all. A robust economy, health care, excellent schools, a safe and temperate climate, an active arts and entertainment community, and opportunities for local outdoor recreation. From the Springfield Cardinals baseball team to a vibrant downtown to Jordan Valley Park and indoor skating facility, all within walking distance of campus, there is always something to do after class.
The Ozarks of southwest Missouri and northwest Arkansas are known for their unique natural resources. Pristine streams, rivers and lakes offer amazing opportunities to canoe, fish and boat within minutes of campus. Faculty often use the Ozarks as Drury's own laboratory for learning about things natural and unique. If you love the outdoors, awesome adventure awaits you at Drury University.
Campus Facilities & Equipment
Drury's historic campus combines beautiful historic buildings with state-of-the-art facilities.
The C.H. "Chub" O'Reilly Enterprise Center and Breech School of Business Administration will be the newest building on campus, opening in Fall 2022. The three-story, 56,700-square-foot facility is the first major project of Drury's campus master plan.
The state-of-the-art Enterprise Center will house the Breech School of Business, the Department of Political Science and International Affairs, related academic programs, and high-tech collaborative spaces. It will also be the home to the Robert and Mary Cox Compass Center, a key component of Your Drury Fusion. The Compass Center brings together academic advising, career planning and development, and academic life coaching in a one-stop-shop for students.
? Stone Chapel has a wealth of history held within its walls. Once the location of compulsory chapel for Drury students, it now is a favorite location for weddings and community events. The Stone Chapel is oldest stone structure in Springfield, and the cornerstone was laid on November 16, 1880.
? O'Reilly Family Event Center is a modern arena fit for championship teams. Students enjoy attending athletic events, concerts and other activities in the arena.
? Other hubs of student activity include Findlay Student Center, Hammons School of Architecture, Trustee Science Center, Black Box Theatre, and the Center for Music Therapy.
Off-Campus Opportunities
Drury University integrates off-campuses experiences into the Your Drury Fusion curriculum. From service learning to internships to studying abroad, students will complete at least three projects that will prepare them for the real world before they graduate.
Our longstanding history in the community means we have formed deep relationships with businesses and non-profits in the Springfield area. Students have the opportunity to collaborate with these organizations through meaningful hands-on learning experiences that take place inside and outside of class. This includes independent projects, research, internships, team projects, service, and other activities.
If students want to really get off-campus, a number of study abroad opportunities available as well. In fact, a study abroad experience is a degree requirement for Breech School of Business and Hammons School of Architecture students. Drury offers semester-long study abroad opportunities in eight countries with additional opportunities for short-term study abroad options over the summer or winter breaks.
What students say:
There's plenty of fun to be had at Drury. To begin with, "during the fall semester you can find a lot of activity outside and on the campus green spaces, mostly sporting activities sprinkled with friendly gatherings and discussions." Additionally, a large number of students "volunteer in the community on a weekly basis." And most people "participate in at least one organization on campus." "Greek life is really big here" as are "intramural sports... such as basketball and volleyball." If those activities aren't your thing, fear not. The Student Union Board hosts "a lot of events" and those are typically well attended. Undergrads do note that "there is a party scene," as well, although mostly off-campus. Drury students are also rather adept at making their own fun. As one individual shares, "The students on my hall love to have board game nights, and we...watch movies together." Lastly, the Springfield area offers "plenty of bars and clubs" that become quite popular on the weekends. And there are plenty of "coffee shops, restaurants, bookstores, bakeries, movie theaters, etc." too.

Financial aid up to the full cost of attendance may be awarded without respect to a student's need by use of certain academic and activity scholarships. Much of Drury's financial aid, however, is awarded on the basis of student need. A student's aid package may consist of federal and state grants, work-study (in which a student is paid for a campus job), loans, a variety of Drury scholarships and grants and any outside scholarships awarded to the student. Drury scholarships and grants cannot be applied to off-campus enrichment programs or foreign study other than at Regent's College in London and at other international institutions with which Drury has formalized exchange agreements. Please contact the Study Abroad Office for information regarding specific programs.
Every effort will be made to provide students accepted to Drury sufficient financial aid to enable them to attend. Students living in campus housing may receive financial aid to cover tuition, room, board and fees, but the financial aid in aggregate will not exceed cost of attendance which is separately determined. Students not living in campus housing may receive financial aid to cover tuition and fees, but, again, the amount of aid in aggregate will not exceed cost of attendance.
The FAFSA
Students wishing to file for financial assistance at Drury University must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA serves as the application for grant programs and loan programs. The FAFSA can be filed online at www.fafsa.gov.
The FAFSA is a universal financial aid application of all colleges/universities nationwide. The FAFSA will be processed by the Federal Processing Agency (U.S. Department of Education). When filed, the student will receive a Student Aid Report (SAR) that he or she must review for accuracy. The Financial Aid Office cannot make an official financial aid award to a student until the student's electronic Institutional Student Information Report (ISIR) has been received by the university. Applicants should complete the form electronically before February 1 of each year.
Note: Answer all FAFSA questions accurately and completely to avoid delays in processing that might affect the amount of aid it is possible to receive. Read instructions carefully; this application is the cornerstone of the financial aid search.
Determination of Need
Each year, a formula for determining need is established by the government. The information the student and family provide on the FAFSA is analyzed according to this formula to arrive at an Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The difference between the student's EFC and the cost of attendance at Drury is the amount of need-based financial aid for which the student may be eligible.
A financial aid award package will be sent to the student. The award package will include a list of the kinds and amounts of aid that can be offered. The student should study this list carefully and accept all awards by the established deadlines. Awards that are not accepted by the established deadline will be cancelled.

Therefore, it comes as no surprise that undergrads here are able to develop "last[ing] relationships" with their professors.
