01. What the School is Known For

From the School

American University of Antigua College of Medicine (AUACOM) has an articulation agreement with the American International College of Arts and Sciences — Antigua (AICASA) that gives aspiring doctors the opportunity to begin their medical education after graduating from high school. Through AICASA's pre-med program, successful students earn an Associate of Science in Health Sciences degree, which is accredited by the Antigua and Barbuda National Accreditation Board.

The AICASA pre-med program gives qualified students the opportunity to complete 62 undergraduate school credits, including all prerequisites required to enter medical school, in two years (4 semesters in total, each semester is 18 weeks in duration). Qualified students who complete the AICASA premedical coursework with a minimum GPA and other conditions set by the medical school are guaranteed acceptance into AUA College of Medicine's 4.5-year medical program.

Pre-med Graduate Success
As AICASA pre-med program graduates make their way to AUA College of Medicine, they will need an extensive network of contacts to maximize their chances of obtaining a residency position. AICASA alumni are a great resource for learning about opportunities. These physicians represent a wealth of knowledge and information about life as an AICASA and AUA student and residency.
