Career Experience
I have taught high school and middle school science with a primary focus on Pre-AP Chemistry. After teaching for 8 years and completing my Masters degree in secondary science education, I became the K-12 Science Curriculum Coordinator for a school district. Later, I trained and certified new teachers across a wide variety of grade levels and subject areas. I am now retired and excited to help students understand science concepts and their associated mathematical calculations.
I Love Tutoring Because
I enjoy communicating clearly about science and helping students understand the connection between scientific concepts and calculations. In Chemistry, I call this “Chemistry Math.” My favorite topic is stoichiometry, but my teaching experience is broad across Chemistry, Physics, Biology, and Earth/Space Science. Tutoring is all about helping you to master the material and gain the confidence to “know that you know it.” I look forward to working with you to help you achieve this.
